Cabin fever setting in yet? Here are my favourite Canadian cities for winter fun:

Vancouver_2009

VANCOUVER
If you can get your mitts on tickets, the Winter Olympics are a must. Cheer on your favourite Canadian athletes and enjoy the many activities lined up for the games.

Book yourself onboard Rails, Peaks and Glaciers. With a gondola ride in Banff, 2 days in Jasper, a float plane from Vancouver to Victoria and whale watching, you’ll definitely beat any winter blahs.

OTTAWA
Nibble on a beavertail while skating the Rideau Canal during Winterlude. This family-friendly festival features a snow castle amusement park, ice sculptures and free concerts. Check out my photos from last winter!

Join the largest and longest-running winter fest in the world. Check into the Ice Hotel then enjoy Carnaval’s parades, parties, races, snow sculptures… even downhill skating!
P0194183 MONCTON
Laugh in the face of winter with the Hubcap Comedy Festival. Spend 4 days enjoying some of Canada’s best English and French comics.

Where are your favourite winter getaways in Canada? Share in the comments!

PS. Many thanks to Yixler for the photo of Moncton.
